The majority of our clients fall under state guidelines for income and need eligibility. Additionally, Tri-Valley offers products and services to elders and their families on a private pay basis.
Our information and referral department is available to answer your questions and guide you through the maze of elder services by phone, fax or e-mail Monday through Friday from 8:30 - 5:00 Eastern Time.
As the Protective Services Agency for
its 25 town area, Tri-Valley accepts all reports of physical abuse, emotional
abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation of individuals 60 and older.
Confidential reports are received from mandated reporters, family members
and concerned individuals. TVES also has a Crisis Intervention Program
which assists, on a short term basis, elders who are experiencing a period
of instability.
Tri-Valley's in-home support to elders
provides those 60 and over with practical assistance to allow them to
remain longer in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes. Tri-Valley's
professional care managers meet with elders, assess their needs and suggest
individual plans of care. Services may include: cleaning, shopping, meal
preparation, laundry, personal care, companion, caregiver respite and
personal emergency response systems. Additionally, the Adult Family Care
Program offers a Medicaid funded recuperative care program and a private
pay respite program in host homes.
The nutrition program at TVES serves over 1100 nutritionally balanced meals per day at its 12 local meal sites, five lunch clubs and through its Meals on Wheels deliveries to homebound elders. Senior nutrition centers offer both hot wholesome lunches and an opportunity for elders to socialize. Elders over 60 and their spouses are welcome at all nutrition centers. Lunch reservations may be made by calling 24 hours in advance.
Tri-Valley's Adult Family Care and Congregate Housing programs offer elders alternatives to institutionalization. An elder in need of personal care assistance, 24-hour supervision and who enjoys family living may find our Adult Family Care Program the perfect option. A person who may desire the companionship of others in a shared living experience while maintaining a degree of independence and privacy may find the Congregate Housing program an ideal living arrangement.
There can come a time when living at
home is no longer a safe option and it may be appropriate for a senior
to move to a long term care facility. TVES can assist a family with this
transition in three ways:
Prescription Advantage is a prescription
drug insurance plan administered by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Prescription Advantage is available to all Massachusetts residents age
65 or older, as well as younger individuals who meet income and employment
guidelines.
TVES offers a variety of additional support services designed to assist elders to live with dignity and independence.
Companions and friendly visitors provide conversation, company, and occasional transportation to appointments or shopping trips. A trained SHINE (Serving the Health Information Needs of Elders) counselor can help the senior sort through the confusing array of health care insurance options as well as make sense of the many bills and informational letters elders receive from hospitals, Medicare and other health insurance carriers. Money managers and representative bill payees are available to assist seniors in balancing checkbooks, paying bills and other financial issues. Tri-Valley resource specialists provide information from up-to-date area, state, and national resource files of additional support services for elders and their families. This service is free. Staff is available with friendly telephone assistance Monday - Friday, 8:30 - 5:00 Eastern Time.
TVES staff members are available to give presentations on a variety of interesting subjects to social and fraternal organizations. |
